Summer is starting to wind down as school is beginning and the days are getting cooler. But that doesn’t mean we are done with our summer festivals! The High Plains Comedy Fest begins this Thursday, August 25th, and ends on Sunday, August 27th. This comedy festival, that began in 2013, is held each August in Denver and features a mix of local and national comedians in venues around the city with the center in the Baker neighborhood. With Comedians all over the spectrum, including our friends at SexPot Comedy, there are performances for every sense of humor.  We Highly recommend you dab up some fruity Panama Punch shatter from the Clinic and make it down to the High Plains Comedy Fest! If you haven’t gotten your fix of music festivals, the RiNo Music Festival is this Friday, August 26th in the industrial and artsy River North (RiNo) neighborhood. Silverson Pickups, St. Lucia, 888, Bishop Briggs and A Silent Film will keep the music flowing while you enjoy hanging out at the RiNo Live! event space, which is family friendly. For a more fashion forward evening, Urban Nights Denver is also this Friday, August 26th at Mile High Station. This extravagant outdoor fashion show is a multi-sensory urban experience that you will not want to miss. Presented by Tempus Jets, this evening of fashion and fun will be supporting the work of Urban Peak, a nonprofit serving our youth that are experiencing homelessness. If you are trying to heat up your saturday evening, the 2017 Colorado Firefighter Calendar Release Party is this Saturday, August 27th. After voting for the favorites, the unveiling of the new calendar will be heating up the halls of the City Hall Event Center on Broadway! Started in August 1988, Reggae on the Rocks is considered one of the world’s best Reggae festivals with artist both famous and on the rise showing up to jam together (and enjoy the good greens).  This year’s lineup features 311 with Iration, Steel Pulse, Morgan Heritage, The Werks & Judge Roughneck.
