June 12th – 18th

For all of you space nerds, this month’s Thursday Night SCIENCE LOUNGE will be Space Oddity themed on June 15th at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. This month is also sponsored in partnership with the LGBT Community Center of Colorado. You will dive into the world of Greeks and Romans, who were no strangers to the stars or sexuality. Explore the myths behind the constellations, sex & gender in the ancient world, and end the evening with a little “stargayzing”. Togas are encouraged! We HIGHLY recommend picking up some delicious Cinderella 99 from DANK to keep your head in the stars at the Science Lounge: Space Oddity!

If the Mountains are calling to you this weekend, check out the Vail Craft Beer Classic starting this Friday, June 16th, through Sunday, June 18th. This event is a blending of outdoor adventures, educational seminars, craft beer, and live music. With events like Hoops & Hops, Bikes & Barley, and Nama’stay for a Beer yoga, there will be no shortage of fun (or brews!) We HIGHLY recommend picking up a MARY’S MEDICINALS 1:1 Patch from LIVEGREEN to keep you feeling refreshed and relaxed at the Vail Craft Beer Classic!

This week is also the Denver PrideFest at Civic Center Park this Saturday, June 17th, and Sunday, June 18th. Considered one of the top 10 Pride events in the country, this event is a celebration of the history and heritage of the LGBT community. The festivities include the 3 stages (the Latin stage, dance stage, and center stage), the Big Gay 5k, Coors Light Pridefest Parade, Dogs in Drag, over 250 vendor booths, and more! We HIGHLY recommend picking up a Red Rescue water from PURE to refresh you after all the dancing and festivities at Denver PrideFest!

For those who know their history, Five Points is putting on their annual Juneteenth Music Festival this Saturday, June 17th. This is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery here in the US, dating back to 1865, with a resurgence during the Civil Rights movement of the ’50s and ’60s. Today, Juneteenth celebrates African American freedom and achievement while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures. Here in Denver, Juneteenth is celebrated with live music, a wide array of traditional soul foods, speakers and more! We HIGHLY recommend you pick up a Keef Cola from PURE to keep up your fun in the sun at the Juneteenth Music Festival!

Also coming to Denver this weekend is The Lights Fest on Saturday, June 17th, at Colorado Motorsports Park in Byers. This experience brings together thousands of people to enjoy live music, dive into delicious food trucks, and to light up life by sharing personal wishes, dreams, and goals before sending off personalized sky lanterns into the sky. Bask in the surreal ambiance of seeing your lantern join others as they float off and light up the night. We HIGHLY recommend picking up a Tangie PAX Era pod from THE CLINIC to keep you feeling bright and smiling as you take in The Lights Fest!
