Session #26: The Furnace a Glassworks

This week the Ladies of City Sessions take you out to their favorite local glassblowing studio, The Furnace A Glassworks located out in Lakewood. Owner Corey Silverman tells us a little about the studio and the work that they do there. From making decorative installations, kitchen pieces and pipes to teaching you how to blow glass, the guys at the Furnace are good at what they do!

Corey and Goldie got in a little kiln work to craft a paperweight in the furnace. While Taylor, one of the glassblowers at the Furnace, showed Sarah how to do do a little lampwork, or torchwork, to make a cool doughnut shaped pipe and then got Sarah up to the table to add a few decorative dots to the piece.

The Furnace is a popular stop on the City Sessions’ tour route where our guests get to come down to the studio and see a demo of a custom chillum that the guests will take home with them afterwards. We HIGHLY recommend you make this a stop on your next City Sessions’ experience. The friendly and knowledgeable staff, the beautiful works of art and the experience they provide our guests are why we have given The Furnace a Glassworks the City Sessions’ Seal of Approval!
