Well it wouldn’t be a true Colorado Spring without a couple little snow spells. Unfortunately due to the weather, the big 420 Rally that was supposed to take place at Civic Center Park on Saturday, April 16th was rescheduled.  To the dismay of many vendors and guests from out of town that were hoping to attend, there is talk of this taking place possibly in June, but no solid date has been decided yet. After making it out to Three Kings on Broadway to see a show, I quickly realized that most people opted to stay in the warmth and safety of their homes to celebrate 420 weekend. But now that the snow is starting to melt, we are so excited to get back to the 420 festivities!

Come join us at the Really Legalize It Rally on April 20th at 4:20. This rally takes place in the heart of Denver, Civic Center Park, which is located in-between our Capitol Building, the Colorado Supreme Court Building, the Central Denver Public Library, and the City and County Building of Denver.  The 420 Rally has been taking place in this park for years to show support for the legalization of cannabis, and now keeps the movement alive to show that we are still supporting it. Do you believe it should be legal for cannabis to be consumed in public? This year we want to make the statement that it should be legal to consume in it just like alcohol or tobacco, and therefore be able to do so in public locations not just inside of our homes. Although there will be a huge hazy cloud above the park, it is still illegal to consume in public so you will risk a possible $75 fine. With that said, we highly recommend you patch up or eat a couple of your favorite edibles and come down to show your support!!

We are so excited to end the 420 festivities on a HIGH note at DANK’s intimate Leftover Salmon show at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox on April 20th. We are ready to get down and dance with good people and awesome music to keep the good vibes flowing. Leftover Salmon is a local Boulder bluegrass jam band that is not new to the stoner scene, having done a 4/20 show the last few years. We highly recommend you come out and join us and our friends at DANK to celebrate 420 with some jamming out and dancing like there’s no tomorrow! There is also a dinner before hand if you feel like breaking bread with the DANK crew! Tickets are $60 and sold at DANK (3852 Elm St. Denver) or you can buy duel tickets online for Leftover Salmon’s Red Rocks show on July 23rd.

To change pace after all the 420 activities, we are excited to check out the Denver Flea in the RiNo neighborhood taking place this Saturday and Sunday. This awesome event brings over 150 local vendors together to with food trucks and entertainment. Originally founded by three Denver dudes whose goal was to throw a fun local market that is approachable, community-curated, beer-forward and held at great locations around the city. The Spring Flea this weekend will be held at the Exdo Event Center from 10am to 6pm for $5. We Highly recommend that you take a couple edibles and wander around this awesome event, you never know what little treasures you may find!

This weekend will also be Doors Open Denver, and annual two-day event that provides opportunities for residents and visitors to explore our city and see all of the beautiful architecture from a new point of view. Each Spring, the Denver Architectural Foundation encourages to community to connect to our history through both self-guided and expert-guided tours of Denver’s unique architecture in both a historic and artistic view. Their self-guided tour maps are available online and we Highly recommend you toke up and make it out to see and learn a little more about Denver’s rich architectural history!
