Denver is starting to turn lovely shades of green as Spring has finally settled in, and with it comes the amazing 11th annual Civic Center EATS season! Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (through October) from 11am to 2pm, Civic Center Park becomes an incredible food truck venue with live music and outdoor seating. Proceeds will go to help support Civic Center Park revitalization efforts through the nonprofit Civic Center Conservancy. We Highly recommend you make it down to Civic Center Park and enjoy a little fresh air in our beautiful government complex while connecting with the community over gourmet food and music. This Saturday, May 21st, will be the Five Points Jazz Festival, a free event that celebrates the history of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood. Once known as the Harlem of the West, Five Points was home to several jazz clubs which played host to many of jazz music’s legends such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and many more. The Jazz Festival is a great way to learn more about the rich history and culture of the Five Points Neighborhood while enjoying some jazzy music and delicious food! After the amazing turn out the last few years, they added 20 additional vendors, three more stages and expanded four blocks! This events kicks off with a parade down Welton that begins promptly at 11:00am at the Blair Caldwell Library on 24th and Welton. We Highly recommend you grab a Jett Cannabis pen or eat a few pieces of a Kind Bar and make it out to this free celebration of culture, music, food, and community! This Saturday, Mat 21st, will also be the rescheduled 420 Rally featuring Wiz Kalifa and Lil Wayne! For those of you who weren’t in Denver for the World Cannabis Week, we had a bit of a blizzard hit us the Saturday prior to 4/20 that canceled the rally at Civic Center park and kept many inside of their homes. Now that the snow has melted, it’s time to make up for lost time! This 420 rally will be going from 10am to 10pm with vendors and food trucks. The concert featuring Wiz Kalifa and Lil Wayne will be taking place at 2pm. We Highly recommend you grab a few Dogg Treats and head on down to Civic Center park and re-experience the 4/20 hype! Although the event is free, you have the option of purchasing a Premium Viewing Pass for $50 or an All-Access Pass for $150. For more details check out 420rally.com.
